Little Margate Equestrian is a Pony Club Centre. This means we have been approved to the Pony Club standard, it is an excellent accreditation. Pony Club Centre membership was initially aimed at children who do not have their own pony, but this has now changed, and you can be a member of our Little Margate Pony Club as a Centre member using one of the school horses/ponies or as a Centre Plus member on your own horse/pony.
We are an extremely active Centre and hold regular rallies, unmounted badge rallies, Pony Club Days, and informative talks/demos for our Pony Club children. To join our Pony Club Centre you must register through The Pony Club website where you will then be able to join in our fun and games.
We run rallies on a Monday evening (members are grouped by our coaches depending on age/ability) which are ridden rallies, we also hold a stable management and pony care session on the last Monday evening of the month. We run all day rallies two Saturday’s a month and during school holidays. Many of our members are working through their Pony Club tests. We run test training evenings for our members to work towards specific tests which they require. It is important to us that our members continue their learning throughout their Pony Club journey.
We welcome everyone to our Pony Club, you do not need to aspire to be jumping the highest of jumps or do dressage to the highest of levels, if you’d like to learn more on how to care for horses/ponies and improve your riding skills then Pony Club is for you.
Our Pony Club members are currently out representing us at Area competitions in lots of disciplines and at different levels, not all mounted! We successfully took our members to Bicton Mini Championships in 2025 as well as members to The Regional Championships riding in Show Jumping, Dressage and Cross Country.
We have had various representative’s take part at The Pony Club National Championships over the last few years and are extremely proud to support our members in achieving this.
The Mounted Games Teams, both senior and junior, represented us at Southwest Zones after winning their area competition, also taking part at County Shows demonstrating Mounted Games to the wider public, in 2025 three teams heading to National Championships, a huge achievement!
We also run competitions here at Little Margate to encourage children that may not have had the opportunity before to take part.
We are very proud of our members and are looking forward to sending more members to a variety of competitions in the future.
