Little Margate Equestrian is also a Pony Club Centre. This means we have been approved to the Pony Club standard and it is an excellent accreditation. Pony Club Centre membership was initially aimed at children who do not have their own pony but this has now changed and you can be a member of our Little Margate Pony Club whether you have your own horse or not. We are an extremely active Centre and hold regular rallies, unmounted badge evenings, Pony Club Days, informative talks/demos for our Pony Club children and we have also got a fantastic Prince Philip Cup team which is a huge achievement. To join our Pony Club Centre you must register through Pony Club headquarters where you will then be able to join in our fun and games.
We run a rally fortnightly on a Tuesday evening which includes an hours lesson and an hours stable management working towards the many badges you can earn. We also hold unmounted badge rallies and training towards Pony Club Tests. Many of our members have passed their D, D+ and C level tests. We are currently starting to train towards the next Pony club test level for each member with the hope of taking the tests in the New Year.
Our Pony Club also has a Prince Philip Cup Team who did exceedingly well against some very tough competition this year and made it through to the Zone Finals for the best in the entire South Region. They won the hotly contested Tack and Turnout competition here which was amazing and they then went on to race their socks off against some of the very best teams in the country to qualify for the Pony Club Championships in Cheshire. Utterly amazing!! We made the 8 hour journey to Cheshire and were blown away by the whole experience. The girls and the ponies were such a pleasure to take away and made us so unbelievably proud!! They yet again won the hotly contested tack and turnout competition and then went on to race hard and fast to come away with a phenomenal 6th place. It was an experience none of us will ever forget!!
